Done-for-you Facebook evidence capture
A Facebook post as court evidence. With every comment and every reply.
In 2026, ProofSnap preserves a Facebook post with its whole comment thread as court evidence and delivers it sealed within 48 hours. We switch the thread to All comments, open every reply, record it on video and seal it with an eIDAS qualified timestamp and a Bitcoin anchor. One post is $44.99, and five posts are $149.
A post that defames you and two hundred comments piling on, a threat in a reply, a smear campaign in a local group? The author can delete the post or hide the comments the day your lawyer's letter arrives.
No account, no subscription, no install. You pay once, enter the post link at checkout, and the sealed package is yours to keep.
Reply, opened from "View 12 replies"
Illustrative example. The thread is switched to All comments, every reply is opened, the capture is recorded from start to finish, and everything is sealed together.
Quick answer
How do I save a Facebook post with all its comments as evidence?
Pay, enter the post link at checkout, and within 48 hours you receive one sealed evidence package. We open the post, switch the comments from Most relevant to All comments, open every View more comments and View replies link and expand every truncated comment. Then we record the whole thread on video from the post to the last reply and capture the page: a full-page screenshot, the HTML source, the extracted text, the metadata and an evidence PDF. The package is sealed with a SHA-256 manifest, an RSA-4096 signature, a Bitcoin anchor via OpenTimestamps and an eIDAS qualified timestamp from Disig a.s. (Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trusted List). One post is $44.99, and five posts are $149.
Why a screenshot of the post is not enough
On Facebook the post is often the smaller part of the problem. The statements that decide the case are in the comments, and several people can make them disappear.
Comments disappear one by one
Every commenter can delete their own comment, whoever controls the post can delete or hide comments under it, and deleting the post removes the whole thread at once. None of this leaves a public trace.
The screen shows a selection
Facebook sorts a thread by Most relevant by default and folds the replies behind View replies. A screenshot of what loads first shows the comments Facebook picked, not the thread.
"When was this taken, and by whom?"
A screenshot has no provable date and no provable source. That is the first question opposing counsel will ask.
Forty screenshots do not make one thread
A long thread does not fit on one screen. A stack of partial screenshots leaves gaps and invites the argument that something in between was left out. One continuous recording shows the thread without gaps.
What the default view of a Facebook thread hides
Three layers stand between the post and the full thread. We open all three before the recording starts.
Most relevant
The default sort shows a ranked selection of comments. We switch it to All comments, so the comments the default sort leaves out are shown too.
View replies
Replies stay folded under each comment, and the thread loads in batches behind View more comments. We open every batch and every reply.
Long comments are cut off after a few lines. We expand each one, so the screenshot and the extracted text show the full wording.
Facebook also shows signed-out visitors far less than signed-in members, often just a sign-in prompt over the post. The capture therefore runs from a signed-in Facebook session, and that session is openly visible in the recording and the saved page.
What the package contains
One ZIP per post. The post, the thread and the proof travel together.
-
1
A video of the whole thread
The recording starts on the post and scrolls through the expanded thread to the last reply, in one continuous take. It shows the thread as it stood, set to All comments and with the replies open. The video file is hashed into the same manifest as everything else.
-
2
The post with its thread expanded
A full-page screenshot of the post with its author, date, reactions, comment and share counts and the opened thread, plus the HTML source and the extracted text of the page, so a comment can be quoted word for word and searched.
-
3
An evidence PDF written for a judge
The capture, the URL, the time and the verification results, laid out in plain language and ready to attach to a filing.
-
4
One seal over everything
A SHA-256 hash of every file in one manifest, an RSA-4096 signature, an eIDAS qualified timestamp and a Bitcoin anchor via OpenTimestamps. Change a single byte in any file after the timestamp and verification fails.
-
5
A chain of custody for the capture
A tamper-evident log of every operation in order: the verified time source, the DNS resolution and HTTP response headers of the page, device and extension integrity, and every layout change made to fit the thread into one image.
"A qualified electronic time stamp shall enjoy the presumption of the accuracy of the date and the time it indicates and the integrity of the data to which the date and time are bound."
How the capture works
No sales call and no account. You pay, you enter the post link, we do the rest.
Pay and enter the link
Pay through Stripe and enter the post link. To get the link, click the post's date and copy the URL from the address bar. The checkout has a field for notes, such as the comments that matter most.
We open the thread
We switch the comments to All comments, load every batch, open every reply and expand every long comment, so nothing stays folded.
Record and capture
We record the thread from the post to the last reply and capture the page with its screenshot, source, text and metadata.

Thousands of comments?
For a viral post, email support@getproofsnap.com with the link before ordering and we will confirm the scope and the delivery time for that thread.
The thread is still growing?
Order a capture now, while the post is up, and a second one later to show how the thread developed. Each capture has its own timestamp, so the two packages document the change.
Who orders a Facebook capture
In each case the thread matters to a dispute, and the people who wrote it have a reason to clean it up.
Defamation and pile-ons
A post names you or your business, and the comments repeat and spread the claim. The reach of the statement is in the thread: the comment count, the shares and who joined in.
Harassment and threats
A threat or an insult is often buried in a reply three levels deep, exactly where a screenshot of the post does not reach. For abuse that also runs through messages, see our guide on workplace harassment evidence.
Businesses and local groups
A smear post in a community group, a boycott call, a competitor's attack or a fake giveaway using your brand. Seal the post and the thread before the group admin removes it.
Family and employment cases
Posts and comments that contradict what a party says in court, in a custody dispute or a wrongful termination case. Our guide on social media evidence in divorce and custody cases covers the wider picture, and other URLs in the same matter go through the web evidence capture service.
Compared with screenshots, comment exporters and custom-quoted vendors
Comment export tools turn a thread into a spreadsheet of text. Page Vault, the best-known done-for-you vendor, lists social media profiles from $349 and quotes each one individually (page-vault.com/pricing, September 2026).
| Feature | ProofSnap service | Screenshots | Comment exporter | Custom-quoted vendor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One post with its thread | $44.99, fixed | Free | Free or subscription | Not disclosed |
| The thread as it looked on screen | In pieces | Text only | Yes | |
| Video of the thread | No | No | Not disclosed | |
| eIDAS qualified timestamp | No | No | Not disclosed | |
| Sales call or account required | Neither | Neither | Varies | Quote request |
| Turnaround | 48 hours | Minutes, no seal | Minutes, no seal | Days, after the quote |

Capture the thread before it is cleaned up
Once the comments are deleted or the post is gone, all you have left is your memory of what they said. Send us the link and keep the sealed copy instead.
