Sportsbook Dispute Evidence
Sportsbook Won't Pay?
Capture Tamper-Proof Evidence Now.
If a sportsbook voids your bet, limits your account or refuses a payout, capture the bet slip, house rules and support chat before the operator edits them. As of 2026, ProofSnap seals each page into a timestamped forensic package carrying a SHA-256 hash and an RSA-4096 signature, which IBAS, gaming commissions and card issuers accept as evidence.
Your sportsbook has IP logs, device fingerprints and timestamped server records. You have one screenshot that anyone could edit in 30 seconds, which is why complaints get rejected. One click, 41 seconds, an evidence package of 11 to 15 files depending on your plan.

Sportsbook dispute? Quick answers.
- Will a screenshot hold up?
- Rarely. ADR bodies such as IBAS and eCOGRA require timestamped, verifiable evidence, not editable images.
- What evidence do I need?
- Timestamped captures of the bet slip, account balance, house rules, chat transcripts, KYC requests and restriction notices.
- What's the chargeback deadline?
- 120 days from the transaction date (Visa Core Rules and Mastercard Chargeback Guide, 2026). After that, your right to dispute expires.
- Where do I file a complaint?
- IBAS (UK), eCOGRA (Malta and EU), your state gaming commission (US), or the operator's licensing authority.
3 steps. 41 seconds. Court-ready evidence.
ProofSnap captures forensic sportsbook evidence that IBAS, gaming commissions, and courts actually accept.

Bookmaker won't pay? You're not alone.
Every day, sportsbooks use these tactics against bettors. Without forensic evidence, your complaint gets rejected for "insufficient information."
Payout Refused
You won, but the sportsbook cites "irregular betting patterns," "bonus abuse," or endless "verification" to withhold your winnings. Weeks pass. Then months.
Evidence needed: account balance, withdrawal request, all communications
Bet Voided After Win
Your bet was settled as a win. Days later, the sportsbook reverses it, citing "palpable error" or "wrong odds." Your winning bet slip disappears from your history.
Evidence needed: timestamped capture of settled bet BEFORE void
Account Limited (Gubbed)
You started winning, so the sportsbook cut your maximum stake to $1. Or closed your account entirely. No explanation. No appeal. Your balance is locked.
Evidence needed: before/after captures of stake limits, restriction notices
KYC Stall Tactics
Deposits were instant. But now that you want to withdraw, they need "additional verification." Every document you send is "insufficient." They're hoping you give up.
Evidence needed: every KYC request, upload, and response, all timestamped
Terms Changed After Bet
You accepted a promotion. You met the terms. Then the sportsbook changed the rules. Now they say you violated conditions that didn't exist when you opted in.
Evidence needed: T&C page captured BEFORE you placed the bet
Cash-Out Manipulation
Cash-out was available at a great value. You clicked it. "Cash out unavailable." Seconds later, the odds shifted. The offer vanished.
Evidence needed: timestamped capture of cash-out offer at the moment it was displayed
Strong evidence usually settles a dispute long before it reaches a courtroom.
Strong evidence changes the outcome before a dispute ever gets to court.
These bettors won. Then the sportsbooks changed their minds.
Real bettors. Real money. Documented cases.
Nicholas Bavas staked $325 across five parlays on the rain-shortened AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February 2024, for a $14.2 million payout. DraftKings voided every bet under its tournament futures rule. He sued in federal court in May 2025 and DraftKings filed 19 separate defenses (Iowa Capital Dispatch, August 2025). The case is ongoing.

After a DraftKings configuration error, a Massachusetts bettor staked $12,950 across 27 parlays during the 2025 ALCS and won 24 of them, worth $934,137. DraftKings asked to void the bets. In December 2025 the Massachusetts Gaming Commission voted 5-0 to make DraftKings pay in full, calling the error a cost of doing business.

Jacqueline Davis turned a $50 deposit into $3,289,500.75 on BetMGM roulette in March 2021. BetMGM paid $100,000, then blamed a software malfunction and kept the rest. On 22 July 2025 the Michigan Supreme Court ruled unanimously that she can sue, sending the case back to the Wayne County Circuit Court. She has still not been paid.

The evidence you need to win a betting dispute
When you file a dispute, your sportsbook responds with IP logs, device fingerprints, timestamped server records, and a 50-page compliance package. You send one screenshot that anyone could have faked in Photoshop.
Your Screenshot

- Easily edited in 30 seconds (Photoshop, Inspect Element)
- No metadata, no URL verification
- No chain of custody
- Just 1 image file
- Rejected by IBAS, eCOGRA, and regulators
ProofSnap Evidence Package
- Blockchain timestamp: immutable proof of when
- SHA-256 hash: any tampering detected instantly
- Full metadata: URL, IP, headers, TLS certificate, cookies
- Forensic log + chain of custody documentation
- 11 to 15 files: screenshot, HTML, DOM text, PDF, metadata, forensic log
- Accepted by IBAS, gaming commissions, EU courts
"Complainants should provide rock-solid, undisputed, unambiguous evidence to support their claims."
"If you fail to provide requested information or evidence, your complaint will be rejected."
Every ProofSnap capture ships with a Provenance Certificate that records eight independent integrity checks, and on the Enterprise plan the package carries an eIDAS qualified timestamp issued by Disig a.s., a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trusted List. Anyone, including the sportsbook, can re-verify the package years later with the free ProofSnap Trust Verifier, and no ProofSnap account is needed.
Already in a dispute? It's not too late.
Most visitors land here after a sportsbook has already refused to pay. There is still time. Critical evidence is on the site right now, and it stays there only until the operator changes those pages.
Capture these 7 things in the next 10 minutes:
Why this matters even if you already have screenshots: Your sportsbook will argue your screenshots are edited. With ProofSnap, each capture carries a SHA-256 hash, a digital signature and a blockchain timestamp, which together prove when you captured the page and what it showed. That's the difference between "insufficient evidence" and a successful complaint.
A $2,000 dispute. A $500 parlay. A $200 withdrawal stuck for 3 months. The amount does not matter. The evidence process is the same, and the 7-day free trial covers it.
Installation takes 30 seconds. Your first capture takes under 2 minutes. Capture all 7 items in 10 minutes.
Got your evidence? Here's exactly where to send it.
You have your ProofSnap ZIP. Now file your complaint. Pick the path that matches your sportsbook.
UK-licensed sportsbook (bet365, William Hill, Betfair, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power)
- 1. File a complaint directly with the sportsbook. Wait for their final response (max 8 weeks).
- 2. If unresolved, escalate to IBAS (Independent Betting Adjudication Service), an ADR provider approved by the Gambling Commission.
- 3. Attach your ProofSnap evidence ZIP to the IBAS complaint form. IBAS decisions are binding on the operator.
- 4. If the IBAS process does not resolve the dispute, escalate to the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), which can fine operators and revoke licences.
US-licensed sportsbook (DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, ESPN BET)
- 1. File a complaint directly with the sportsbook's customer support.
- 2. If unresolved, file with your state gaming commission. Each state has its own regulator, which can fine operators and force payouts.
- 3. Attach your ProofSnap evidence ZIP. State regulators give significantly more weight to timestamped, forensic evidence.
Malta / EU-licensed sportsbook (Betway, 888sport, Unibet, LeoVegas)
- 1. File with the sportsbook. If unresolved, escalate to eCOGRA or the MGA Player Support Function.
- 2. Attach your ProofSnap evidence ZIP. eIDAS-qualified timestamps (Enterprise plan) carry a presumption that their date and time are accurate in all 27 EU member states, under Regulation (EU) 910/2014, Article 41(2).
Ontario-licensed sportsbook (bet365, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, PointsBet)
- 1. File a complaint directly with the sportsbook.
- 2. If unresolved, escalate to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) via iGaming Ontario. The AGCO regulates all private sportsbook operators in Ontario.
- 3. Attach your ProofSnap evidence ZIP. Ontario is the only Canadian province with private operator licensing. Other provinces run betting through provincial lotteries.
Australian sportsbook (Sportsbet, Ladbrokes AU, TAB, Neds, bet365 AU)
- 1. File a complaint directly with the operator. All licensed operators must have an internal dispute resolution process.
- 2. If unresolved, escalate to the state/territory racing or gaming authority where the operator is licensed (most are licensed in the Northern Territory).
- 3. The ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) handles enforcement against unlicensed operators.
Curaçao / offshore sportsbook (Stake, 1xBet, Pinnacle, BC.Game)
- 1. File with the operator. If no response, submit to Casino Guru or AskGamblers, which mediate with operators and have investigated more than 65,000 complaints (Casino Guru complaint database, 2026).
- 2. Attach your ProofSnap evidence ZIP. For offshore operators with weak regulators, your evidence IS your only leverage.
- 3. Consider a Visa chargeback (reason code 13.1, services not received, within 120 calendar days of the processing date (Visa Core Rules, 2026)). ProofSnap evidence significantly strengthens chargeback claims.

bet365 won't pay?
bet365 is one of the world's largest sportsbooks and draws a correspondingly high complaint volume. It is also one of the most complained about. Common issues: account restricted after winning, withdrawal pending for weeks, bonus terms retroactively changed. Capture your bet365 account, bet history, and chat transcripts before they lock you out.
DraftKings or FanDuel dispute?
US-licensed operators DraftKings and FanDuel face a growing volume of complaints. Common issues: same-game parlay voided, withdrawal denied after KYC, geolocation errors locking you out. File with your state gaming commission, which requires documented, timestamped evidence.
Curaçao-licensed sportsbook?
Operators such as Stake, 1xBet and Pinnacle hold Curaçao licences, and Curaçao enforces them minimally. Your evidence is your only leverage. Timestamped forensic proof is often the difference between recovering your money and losing it.
