The only web evidence tool whose proofs survive even if our company disappears. Self-verifiable cryptography, no vendor lock-in, no “trust us” required.
Tamper-proof cryptographic evidence courts accept: hash, signature, blockchain timestamp, capture video, Provenance Certificate. One click. 41 seconds.
From $8.99/mo · Up to 15 files per package · 23 countries
Also available for Microsoft Edge · The only extension with legally binding EU timestamps in all 27 member states
ProofSnap is a Chrome & Edge extension that captures web pages as court-admissible evidence in 41 seconds. Three capture options: single page, multi-tab browsing session (with per-tab forensic packages), or signed video proof (Auto, Manual, or Session-wide screen recording). Every capture includes a SHA-256 cryptographic hash, RSA-4096 digital signature, Bitcoin blockchain timestamp via OpenTimestamps, and a Provenance Certificate with 8 integrity checks for deepfake detection. In Nigeria, this directly supports the test courts apply to computer-generated evidence under section 84 of the Evidence Act 2011 (expanded by the Evidence (Amendment) Act 2023): such a document is admissible only when its integrity is shown, typically by a section 84(4) certificate of compliance, and any sign the record was altered can make it inadmissible. The same signed package plugs straight into an EFCC fraud petition or a police report. Enterprise plans add eIDAS-qualified timestamps issued by Disig a.s., a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trusted List, for extra international weight. Evidence packages also line up with FRE 901 (US), eIDAS Article 41 (EU) and comparable rules in Germany, Italy and France. Pricing starts at $8.99/month with a 7-day free trial requiring a credit card. Used by lawyers, STR hosts, copyright enforcement firms, and compliance teams in 23 countries.

Judges in US v. Vayner, Griffin v. State, and Serrano v. Cruz-Angeles all rejected screenshot evidence. Here's why.
File timestamps can be changed in seconds. Courts know this. Without a blockchain or eIDAS-qualified timestamp, you can't prove when you captured it.
Any screenshot can be edited in 10 seconds with AI. In Sept 2025, a California judge dismissed a case after discovering deepfaked video evidence. Without a SHA-256 hash, there's no way to prove yours is real.
Who captured it? When? On what device? How was it stored? Screenshots don't answer any of these questions. Under FRE 901 and eIDAS Art. 41, digital evidence requires authentication.

Built for how disputes start in Nigeria
Most Nigerian disputes never begin in a courtroom. They begin with a chat, a listing, or a post that vanishes the moment it matters. Whether you are filing an EFCC petition, a police report, or a case under the Evidence Act 2011, ProofSnap locks the record in seconds, with a signed PDF and a SHA-256 hash that stands up when the other side says "that screenshot is fake".
The EFCC petition portal lets you upload evidence with your complaint. Capture the scammer's chat, profile, and payment request as a signed evidence PDF and attach it. The EFCC has said petitions with clearer evidence and identifiable suspects are generally prioritized.
"Pay first, I go send am." Then the account disappears. Lock the listing, the price, the delivery promise, and the chat before the vendor blocks you or deletes the post, so you have proof of exactly what was agreed.
Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act (as amended in 2024) is still used over online posts, and the post is often deleted before anyone can act. Whether you are the target of a false post or answering a claim, preserve the exact content, URL, and timestamp while it is still live.
Double allocation and "sold to two buyers" disputes turn on what was promised. Before you report or brief a lawyer, preserve the WhatsApp negotiations, allocation letters, receipts, and marketing posts as one signed, tamper-evident package.
If you are dealing with a single scam or one bad actor, a one-time SnapPack is a single up-front purchase, with no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no trial. Or send us the link and our team captures the court-ready package for you, no install required.
Don't trust us. Trust the math.
Most web-evidence tools force you to depend on them. ProofSnap evidence is self-verifiable: anyone with the ZIP can confirm authenticity using open standards (SHA-256, OpenTimestamps, eIDAS), with or without ProofSnap continuing to exist.
| ProofSnap | Page Vault / Pagefreezer | Notary / Wayback Machine | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Verifiable without the vendor? | Yes, SHA-256 + OpenTimestamps work forever | No, verification requires their portal | No, depends on archive availability |
| What if the vendor disappears? | Evidence still valid | Evidence becomes hard to defend | Wayback can be wiped on request |
| Independent court-expert verification | Any IT expert, in 60 seconds | Requires vendor cooperation | Requires manual screenshot |
| Cryptographic proof in the file itself | Yes, open standards (SHA-256, OTS, eIDAS) | Proprietary format | None |
“Its merit is based on it being self-verifiable, and not necessarily dependent on the credit or level of trust afforded to the company or institution behind it.”

Independent legal opinion · 21 April 2026
The opinion was prepared by SEDLAKOVA LEGAL s.r.o. (Brno, Czech Bar Association, Company ID 05669871) under EU law (Regulation 910/2014, eIDAS) with reference to Czech civil procedure. Cross-references to the US Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE 901, 902(13)-(14), proposed FRE 707) and the English Civil Procedure Rules (CPR 32, 35) added by the ProofSnap team for orientation of common-law readers.
FRE 901 · FRE 902(13)-(14) · CPR 32 · eIDAS Art. 41
ProofSnap outputs are usable as means of evidence in civil, criminal and administrative proceedings. Authentication satisfied under FRE 901 / 902 in the US, CPR 32 in the UK, and free evaluation of evidence in EU systems, reinforced by US case law (Vayner, Lorraine v. Markel, Mendones).
Notarial deed · Court reporter affidavit
The opinion describes ProofSnap as "a suitable and economical alternative" to notarial fact certification of website state. Court-reporter affidavits and notarial deeds (US $200-500, UK £200-800) require waiting time during which content can disappear; ProofSnap captures immediately with cryptographic integrity.
eIDAS Art. 41(2) · Regulation (EU) 910/2014
The qualified eIDAS timestamp issued by Disig a.s., a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trusted List, carries the statutory presumption of accuracy of date, time and data integrity, shifting the burden of disproof to the opposing party, directly across all 27 EU Member States.
“The outputs of the ProofSnap service are, from the perspective of Czech procedural law and the EU legal framework, generally usable as means of evidence in any type of proceedings.”
Conclusion of the legal opinion, SEDLAKOVA LEGAL s.r.o., 21 April 2026
The opinion is publicly accessible, no registration. The conclusions express the legal view of the author and do not constitute binding legal advice.
ProofSnap's eIDAS qualified timestamps shift the legal burden. Under EU Regulation 910/2014, Article 41, your evidence is legally presumed accurate, and the opposing party must prove otherwise.

Most Nigerian banks block international and online payments on naira cards by default, and cap the dollar amount. A declined ProofSnap payment is almost always the bank holding the transaction, not a system error. The same block affects the Chrome Web Store, Stripe, and any international service. Since July 2025 the major banks have re-enabled naira cards abroad, so a working card just needs the right switch turned on.
GTBank
Enable dollar spending on your naira Mastercard in the GTWorld app or at a branch. A quarterly limit (about $1,000) applies, well above a ProofSnap subscription.
UBA
Turn on international transactions in the UBA mobile app or via *919#. Naira card spending abroad is capped at about $1,000.
Access, Zenith, First Bank
Enable online and international payments under card controls in the bank app, or call the bank. Limits are set per bank based on FX liquidity.
Dollar or virtual USD card
A domiciliary or USD card from a licensed provider usually clears without limit issues, for a small monthly charge.
Two-minute fix: Open your bank app, go to card controls or settings, and switch on both "online transactions" and "international transactions". On some banks these are separate toggles.

Regular screenshots can be challenged in court because they lack proof of when they were taken and whether they've been altered. In Nigeria, section 84 of the Evidence Act 2011 (expanded by the Evidence (Amendment) Act 2023) lets a computer-generated document in, but only when its integrity is established: the party relying on the screenshot must satisfy the section 84(2) conditions, usually with a section 84(4) certificate, and any sign the record was edited or manipulated can render it inadmissible. A plain screenshot is weak on exactly those points. Other jurisdictions apply similar authentication rules, such as FRE 901/902 in the US.
ProofSnap addresses these challenges by creating a forensic evidence package that includes: a SHA-256 cryptographic hash proving the content hasn't been modified, a digital signature for authenticity, a blockchain timestamp proving when the capture occurred, and full metadata (URL, browser info, TLS certificate). This makes your capture significantly more defensible under the section 84 integrity test than a plain image file.
ProofSnap uses three layers of cryptographic protection:
Together, these mechanisms create a chain of integrity that proves the evidence is authentic, unaltered, and was captured at a specific point in time.
The eIDAS 2 regulation (EU 2024/1183) is fully rolling out by the end of 2026, establishing stricter standards for electronic identification, digital signatures, and qualified electronic timestamps across all EU member states.
Under Article 41, qualified electronic timestamps enjoy a legal presumption of accuracy for the date and time they indicate, and the integrity of the data to which the timestamp is linked. This means evidence timestamped with a qualified service is admissible across all EU courts.
ProofSnap's cryptographic proofs align with eIDAS 2 requirements: SHA-256 hashing for data integrity, RSA-4096 digital signatures for authenticity, and blockchain timestamps via OpenTimestamps for independent time verification. This makes ProofSnap evidence packages suitable for legal proceedings in any EU jurisdiction.
Yes. The EFCC online petition portal and the Eagle Eye app let you attach supporting documents as PDF or image files, up to 10MB each. Capture the scammer's WhatsApp chat, Instagram profile, or payment request with ProofSnap, then attach the signed evidence PDF to your petition or hand it to the police. The EFCC has said petitions with clearer evidence and identifiable suspects are generally prioritized.
ProofSnap does not report the case for you. It preserves the record in a tamper-evident package with a SHA-256 hash and a Bitcoin blockchain timestamp, so the scammer cannot later claim your screenshot was faked or taken out of context.
Under section 84(2) of the Evidence Act 2011, a computer-generated document is admissible only if you show the computer was working properly and the record was produced in the ordinary course of use. Section 84(4) lets you establish this with a signed statement, commonly called a certificate of compliance. That certificate is a legal document you or your lawyer sign, so ProofSnap does not issue it for you.
What ProofSnap gives you is the technical foundation the certificate relies on: a SHA-256 hash, an RSA-4096 digital signature, a Bitcoin blockchain timestamp, and a forensic log showing how, when, and from where the page was captured. That makes the integrity of your record far easier to attest to, and much harder for the other side to dispute.
