Yes. In the ProofSnap Dashboard at app.getproofsnap.com you paste one or more URLs and our servers load the pages and return the same sealed evidence package. It works for public pages; for a page behind a login or paywall, use the extension. A new dashboard account starts with 50 free test captures, and the dashboard and the API have their own plans, separate from the extension.

ProofSnap generates forensically sound evidence with cryptographic proofs, and the Enterprise and Company plans and the eIDAS and Video SnapPacks add qualified timestamps from a Qualified Trust Service Provider. Ordinary screenshots can be challenged in court because they lack proof of when they were taken and whether they have been altered. In South Africa, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act) stops a data message being rejected just for being electronic, but it does not make the screenshot admissible on its own and it does not displace the hearsay rules. Reliability is not presumed either: the Act directs the court to weigh how the record was generated, stored and communicated, how its integrity was maintained and how its originator was identified. A plain screenshot is weak on exactly those points.

ProofSnap addresses these challenges by creating a forensic evidence package that includes: a SHA-256 hash of every file, an RSA-4096 signature over the manifest that binds those hashes together, a timestamp proving the package existed no later than the moment it was anchored, and full metadata (URL, browser info, DNS and HTTP headers). This makes your capture significantly more defensible under the ECT Act reliability test than a plain image file. ProofSnap uses three layers of cryptographic protection:

1. SHA-256 Hashing: Every file in the evidence package is hashed. Changing even a single pixel or character produces a completely different hash, making any tampering immediately detectable.
2. Digital Signature: The manifest (listing all files and their hashes) is digitally signed with a private key. The corresponding public key is included so anyone can verify that the manifest has not changed.
3. Blockchain Timestamp: The manifest hash is anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain via OpenTimestamps, proving the evidence existed no later than the moment of anchoring. This timestamp cannot be backdated.

South Africa is not an EU member state, so the eIDAS presumption does not arise in a South African court. In the EU, eIDAS gives a qualified electronic timestamp a presumption of the accuracy of the date and time it indicates and of the integrity of the data it is bound to, and that presumption operates in the courts of EU member states, not before the High Court, a magistrates' court or a CCMA commissioner.

In a South African matter the qualified timestamp is independent technical corroboration to which the court or commissioner may attach such weight as it considers appropriate, alongside the SHA-256 hashes, the RSA-4096 signature and the OpenTimestamps Bitcoin anchor. It carries real weight because a third party outside ProofSnap, namely Disig a.s., a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trusted List, attests the time.

The eIDAS timestamp matters most when your South African matter has a European leg: an EU counterparty, an EU platform, or enforcement in an EU member state. There the Article 41(2) presumption does apply, and the same evidence package carries it without any extra step.

Forensic mode is an optional, deeper capture mode included in the Professional, Enterprise and Company plans (not in Essential or the SnapPacks).

It adds a complete archive of the page's network layer: every HTTP request and response (network.har), a WARC copy of the page, all loaded resources, and the TLS connection and certificate details of the page. To capture that, it attaches the debugger (the browser shows a “being debugged” banner).
